John Hodgson II, founder and president of The
Hodgson Company, has been an attorney specializing in land use, political,
and regulatory issues for over thirty years. He has developed
residential and commercial properties and managed major real estate
development projects throughout the Sacramento Valley for the past fifteen
years. Prior to establishing The Hodgson Company, Mr. Hodgson was a founding
partner of the law firm of Nielsen, Merksamer, Hodgson, Parrinello &
Mueller. Mr. Hodgson is currently involved in over 10,000 acres of new
development projects in the greater Sacramento area. Mr.
Hodgson is active in both civic and volunteer organizations, having served as
Board member and chairman of the Capital Area Development
Authority (CADA) from 1995 to 2001. The Authority is responsible for the
development of the 42 square blocks surrounding the State Capitol in downtown
Sacramento. During his tenure as Chair
of CADA he is credited with leading a rejuvenation of this agency which has
become a leader in downtown redevelopment efforts. Mr. Hodgson is a full member of Urban Land Institute and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the ULI Sacramento District Council and will become District Council Chair effective July 1, 2007. He has served three terms as chair of the Sacramento Council of
the Building
Industry Association (BIA) and is
currently chair of the South Sacramento Habitat
Conservation Plan (HCP). Mr. Hodgson
is a board member of HOMEAID a
nonprofit organization dedicated to housing for the transitionally homeless
in the Sacramento area. Mr.
Hodgson served as Chair of the Land Use & Natural Resources Committee of
the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
and currently serves on the Metro Chamber's Cap to Cap Steering Committee. In
addition, he has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the U.C. Davis Foundation and is an active
member in many organizations including the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce,
Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce, Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, California State Bar, Sacramento
County Bar Association, the Sutter Club and Valley Hi Country
Club. He
is a graduate of University of California, Davis (1969), and University of
California, Davis Law School (1973). |
